A Lifetime Education
In 1973-74 Richard abruptly changed careers and attended Tech to earn thirty semester hours that would certify him to teach elementary school in Texas. Later in the '70s, he enrolled in graduate classes in photography and other subjects. In the 80s, he earned a Master's Degree in English, and in the early '90s he obtained his certification in secondary education. After he retired from teaching, he took several classes from the Osher Lifetime Learning Institute on campus. He and Ken have gone with other West Texans to destinations like Alaska, Spain, Canada, and Italy by traveling with the SAS program associated with University Medical Center. For over thirty years, he and Ken have attended both football and men's and women's basketball games, so Texas Tech University has served their professional and personal needs for a lifetime, and they hope to continue to grow with the help of all the resources found at Texas Tech University. These are just a few of the pictures Richard has snapped on campus through the years.
